About Us - The Conservancy

Overview

Finding ways to maintain the natural diversity of our native flora and fauna, while restoring and protecting their ecosystems.

The Conservancy at Victory Ranch is a recognized 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the planning and management of the natural resources and habitats that run through and surround Victory Ranch, a private, four-season community set amidst 6,700 pristine acres just minutes from Deer Valley and Park City. Victory Ranch has an abundant and diverse wildlife habitat along with vast open spaces—thus, when combined with our proximity to the Uinta Mountains, the opportunity exists to aid in conservation well beyond our borders.

Our Origins

As development at Victory Ranch nears completion, we are confronted with maintaining and regulating the environmental impact of people in and around natural areas at Victory Ranch and surrounding properties. This includes a potential impact to scenery, wildlife, water quality, biological diversity, ecology and general safety of Victory Ranch. Commonly observed effects of development in mountain lands include stream and soil contamination; increases in pest species including noxious weeds, habituation or destruction of large predators; noise and light pollution; disruption of wildlife patterns and corridors; and loss of biological diversity.

As the community matures, a shared vision and structured conservation plan will help to protect the interests of all landowners and their stewardship of Victory Ranch and surrounding open lands. This begins with wise planning, management and education for our owners which has been informally implemented. Now is an important time to formalize a complete, comprehensive ecosystem management plan at Victory Ranch. There is great value in implementing wise conservation decisions at Victory Ranch and surrounding communities through proper funding and education. Our purpose is to provide an example of stewardship and conservation to landowners with a well-executed plan and goal to educate others to build a culture of stewardship for Utah’s natural areas.

Our Mission

The Conservancy at Victory Ranch is dedicated to the planning and management of our resources toward a model of sustainability.
